Other native species benefiting from the preservation of Lake Chalco include the Chirostoma Jordan, P. minimum & T. Aztecae, and parasites such as Schyzocotyle Acheilognath & various nematodes.
The Axolotl's current status is critically endangered. There is an estimated 700 to 1,200 Axolotls that remain.
