In Mexico lies a lake

That brings great heartache.

Once upon a time,

Axolotls were in their prime.

But then the people came

Their thirsty habits are to blame.

They slaughtered the axoltols,

And polluted the water with bottles.

​

And now the axolotl

Has no good place to waddle.

But we want to fix this

And bring axolotls bliss.

​

By preserving Chalco Lake,

For the axolotl's sake

An effort we will make,

To give their struggles a break.
